An extensive update has been applied to the Electric Eyrie player board for the Clockwork (automated factions) expansion. This change addresses the nature of how the Electric Eyrie's functions caused them to act in a way that was not intended and made their play too unstable as a result. Root: The Riverfolk Expansion takes a low spot the list of the best Root expansions because while great, this is not where you should start. Root Clockwork Expansion Kickstarter

Root: The Clockwork Expansion takes the top spot on the list of the best Root expansions because while the task is difficult given the field, the options and additional gameplay are just too good to not be at the top. The new hook is very cool. The Clockwork Expansion allows players to square off against four fiendishly automated factions that can be used in solo, competitive or co-operative games.

  • Mechanical Marquise 2.0 – Dodge her marauding patrols as you try to stop her from completing her building tracks.
  • Electric Eyrie: Shore up the Woodland’s defenses against this fearsome invader. If they go unchallenged, the Woodland will soon be flooded with their forces.
  • Automated Alliance – Police these radicals and raze their bases before a little uprising turns into a massive rebellion.
  • Vagabot – Hunt the dastardly Vagabot across the many clearings of the game or attempt to court him with items.
